So you have been asked by your best buddy or perhaps your close girlfriend to give a wedding speech. This can be kind of scary for most people. That’s right don’t give any old wedding advice. People often try to give some worth while nugget of wisdom that will carry the newly wed couple through the difficult years. However, no one is really listening and who are you to give wedding advice anyway? Leave that to the professionals like a counselor or a priest. The young couple at this point is so in love and at the height of the marriage they will not even want to listen to any advice about the bad times.
Introduce Yourself
One thing that many people forget to do is introduce themselves. They are nervous and set on getting the whole speech done with and just jump right in to the speech. However, it is likely that many of the attendees will not know who you are. So start by introducing yourself.
Memories
The best wedding speeches are usually formed around memories. At weddings most of the guests are feeling nostalgic and therefore love to hear those special memories about the newly wed couple. If you can think of any funny occasions or events this can often bring a much-needed laugh and instantly win over the guests. Then throwing in some memory about when or how the couple met or how the first time you met the couple you knew they were right for each other.
By following the advice above and giving a speech that is from the heart you are sure to give a memorable speech. Make sure you annunciate clearly and speak slowly so that everyone can hear you and just be yourself. The more relaxed you look the better your speech will be perceived. You can be a nervous wreck inside as long as you appear calm and collected.

I wrote my groom’s wedding speech, and it was a good speech because I followed some simple tips and guide. I never thought that I will be able to write a good speech, good thing I found some guides on how to write a good speech in the web.
Before I found the speech writing guides, I was so distressed over my groom’s wedding speech that I can’t even sleep properly at night. I was stressed and afraid that I won’t be able to deliver a good speech. I do not want to be a let down in my own wedding.
I tried to write a speech draft after draft, but I can’t put down the right words or the write tone. I was lost and I did not know what to do. Good thing I found the following tips online. I want to help you with your speech so I tried to compile the most basic guide I could find.
1. Write your speech with only one over-arching theme. Just write about one topic or issue and stick with it.
2. When you have decided on a theme, ask yourself what your point would be. Think about what moral or inspirational thought you want your speech to impart to your audience.
3. Show, don’t tell. Use metaphors, imagery, and colorful statements to depict action, rather than just straight out writing – “We walked in the park,” try, “We breezed in the sun soaked park.” It can be a bit corny to the ears or on paper, but it can convey more information because it is much more dynamic than just outright retelling.
4. Try and rehearse your speech with someone. You can also record and playback your speech if you don’t have anyone. You can also try to deliver your speech in front of the mirror so you can see yourself deliver the speech and see your mistakes for yourself. Be honest about mistakes so you can correct them easily later on.
I followed the guide above and I wrote my first draft easily. I made a simple groom’s wedding speech that I can be proud of. During my wedding, I was the life of the party because my toasts were funny and inspirational. At last, I was about to deliver my groom’s wedding speech. Everyone was very attentive and after I finished, I got a lot of applause from friends and family. I was so proud of myself. I was happy because I see my wife very proud of me as well.
