Have you wondered why speeches at weddings are so important? See, aside from the bride and the groom, if you are the father of the bride or the best man of he bride or groom then it is expected that in such an occasion you give a speech. Now, I know that it is awkward and difficult at times to even think of what you are going to say and what will make the couple happy, but it is a ritual that is necessary and thought polite in society.
Therefore we have to conform. No matter how bad you speak and no matter how boring as a person you are you have this obligation towards your friend or daughter and have to fulfil it. However if you are the bride or the groom then it is a bigger responsibility because it is their wedding and therefore have to be conducted in the best possible way.
Now, everyone gets nervous but that is not to say that you move out of it and when you have your best friend the internet. For whom do you go for help when you cannot find a solution to your very many problems? It is the internet you come to and search for a solution. Therefore when you are facing such a big crisis for a wedding speech then why not go to the internet?
The internet has many speeches for weddings written and stored there and you just have to check and find the exact match as to what you want to say and what you should say. More over there are even ideas given as o how to conduct yourself during the speech.
Now see, if you are the groom or the bride then there is a different set of templates that are available for you to give your speech on while if you are the best man or the father of the bride then there are different ones as well. You do not have to think that every one says the same thing because no one does. Every one has something unique to say. Just as every person is unique so is their speech and so it should not e a problem.
Also speeches at weddings especially for the bride or the groom mean a lot for them. It is the best and the most important day in their lives and therefore they want to give a memorable speech. Moreover, it is the day when the bride can actually thank her parents with her whole heart for everything that they have done for her and every little or big happiness that they have given her and shared with her. Whenever someone looks for volunteers to do a certain job, especially big ones, the (usual) initial impulse of those being asked would be to decline due to fear of embarrassment (or not meeting all the people’s standards). Many people fear huge responsibilities mostly because they’re afraid of ruining their unblemished reputations. One such act that’s evaded by many, many people (men specifically) is the best man toast. This toast is a very special role given to a very special person. You shouldn’t fear it – in fact, you should treat it an honor to be chosen to do it.
The best man toast is a wedding ritual that requires one to get the attention of all the guests, introduce oneself, and relate his relationship and experiences with the bride and groom. One has to be careful when relating this speech, though. You, of course, wouldn’t want to humiliate or embarrass the newlyweds on their special day.
A good start to this speech is a short introduction of oneself, and one’s relation to the couple. Remember that all throughout the toast, one must show good sense of humor, ingenuity, and creativity. One cannot settle for clichés that’ll leave the other guests thinking, “he’s impersonal”.
The middle of the toast should be the bulk of stories and accounts relating the changes that happened to the couple during the time before their marriage. The best man might want to involve himself in the stories too. It is important to remember, however, that the focus must be the couple, not the best man. Also, avoid retelling tales that can hurt or bring back bad memories to the guests and/or to the couple (avoid ex-girlfriend stories, ex-fiancé deaths or things like that).
To wrap the speech up, one can say a wish or blessing for the newly weds, raise one’s glass up, and say congratulations.
Just remember that the only thing the best man toast demands from the best man is to pour his heart out. When what one says is honest and sincere, one can never go wrong. Now, the next time someone asks you to do this special toast, face them with your head held high, and accept the proposal.

The best man’s speech is very popular for its being light. This speech is always looked forward to by many wedding guests since it’s usually full of humor. Sometimes the unknown and the unexpected come out during this speech (these things, though, should never embarrass the groom and the bride – unless of course, the best man makes a mistake). Funny best man speeches, therefore, are not simple acts of teasing or pulling the legs of the newlyweds. These speeches are very delicate. Some boundaries must be set, or else, the couple the best man is talking about might look bad.
Funny best man speeches must, as the name suggests, bring out laughter. The speech must focus, not only on the groom (although in many cases, the best man speech seems to be too much about the groom), but also the bride. This may be difficult however, since most of the time, the best man is the groom’s (not really the bride’s) best or close friend. The best man, must, therefore, talk to some of the bride’s friends to know more about her.
Don’t talk about past girlfriends, hook-ups, love affairs, or any things of that sort. Don’t talk about things that’ll bring back ugly memories from the past like arguments, conflicts, and others. Also, the best man must consider every one, not the majority, of the guests. Some jokes might be funny for the present generation, but always consider the conservative nature of the older generations. You wouldn’t want the bride’s or groom’s parents to faint during their own child’s wedding, right?
Also, the best man must remember to avoid talking about himself too much. For introductory purposes, the best man may say things like “I came from”, “I am”, or any other statement of the type. The middle part, the bulk, of the speech, however, must be about the qualities of the bride, the groom, and the couple. The best man may inject his own experiences with the bride and groom, but he must also remember to leave himself out of the spotlight.
Funny best man speeches are very much looked forward to in any wedding. Remember, if ever you become a best man, to stay sincere and be careful.
